Top 5 Travel Tips I swear by

I’ve been travelling all over the place my whole life and especially since half my family moved to outside of Toronto. Then on top of that, my time spent in airports and bus terminals only increased once I went to school and started travelling on my own. Here are my top 5 tips for making travel easy-breezy no matter where I’m going!

1) if you’re travelling by air, get TRUSTED TRAVELLER status. I’m always back and forth between the US and Canada and this allows me to skip security lines, leave on my shoes and I swear I can make it from drop off to my gate in under 12 minutes.

2) Always always always bring your camera, and even if you only bring one lens, extra BATTERIES/MEMORY CARDS/FILM

  • I use a Nikon
  • I also have a Polaroid camera I love-something about the novelty of getting only one chance for the shot feels sentimental and magical
  • New iPhones and Samsung have hellllla cameras that do well enough in a pinch just to capture the memories

3) Bring your headphones and an extra pair  JUST in case. Nothing passes time like a good playlist that makes you feel like you’re a jet setting traveller with your own soundtrack like in the movies

4) Bring your travel journal. Write down everything or just the highlights-however much detail of as little as you want. It’s crazy looking a year or two back and reading about that amazing chicken sandwichyou found on the side of the highway in the desert because your friend had to pee.

5) SNACKS. I’m one of those people who needs to eat like every 3 hours. I get hangry, I get grumpy. Sometimes the free airline snacks are bad, sometimes your bus is late and all the convenience stores are closed-trust me on this.
